As the 2024 holiday season approached, L.I.T.E. (Lifting Individuals Through Education) continued its mission to educate, empower, and elevate by hosting a special Christmas workshop titled “Make Your Money Work as Hard as You.”
Held in Wroto Town Market, the workshop gathered over 100 hardworking market women eager to learn how to make the most of their earnings. Through interactive sessions and practical lessons, participants discovered new ways to save strategically, invest wisely, and build stronger financial foundations for their businesses and families.
A heartfelt thank you goes to Hawa Barney, representative of Women in Agriculture for Sustainable Development (WASD), who led the financial literacy training. Her expertise helped demystify money management, showing women that financial empowerment begins with knowledge and consistent habits.
In the spirit of giving, L.I.T.E. didn’t just feed minds, we fed multitudes. Each woman and her family enjoyed a warm holiday meal and received a 25kg bag of rice to take home for Christmas. These gestures reminded participants that empowerment is holistic—it nurtures both the heart and the home.
Through initiatives like this, L.I.T.E. continues to stand with women at the heart of Liberia’s markets, helping them turn hard work into long-term opportunity.
